A man who's retired from M.I.6. starts a little clock repair business. He's approached by a young agent, who brings in a large clock. He says there's something behind the dial. It turns out to be details of Artificial Gravity, and belongs to the Russians. The clockmaker realizes the young man has been tailed, and he therefore expects a visit from the Russians that night.

A clockmaker takes in a beautiful carriage clock for restoration. He completes the work, except that the clock strikes 13 times at 12 o'clock. He spends a day trying to puzzle this out, but to no avail. Later that night, he sees the ghost of the old clockmaker who made the piece, and when the clockmaker comes into the shop the next morning, it works perfectly.
